College-Level Registration

Apart from the centralized CAP rounds, certain seats are filled at the college level. These include In-house, Minority, and Management quotas.

Types of College-Level Seats

1. In-House Quota (10% or 20%)

  • Note: Not all colleges have an attached school.

2. Minority Quota (50%)

  • Who: Students belonging to specific Linguistic (e.g., Gujarati, Hindi, Sindhi) or Religious (e.g., Christian, Muslim, Sikh) minorities.
  • Requirement: The college must have Minority status. You must have proof of minority (LC or Certificate).

3. Management Quota (5%)

  • Who: Available to anyone, filled at the discretion of the college management.
  • Process: Often requires physically visiting the college to submit a separate application along with the online registration.

Step-by-Step: Applying for Quota Seats

1. Zero Round Application

Purpose: To secure a seat early in your own school or minority college. Action:

  1. Log in to mahafyjcadmissions.in.
  2. After Part-1 verification, look for the link 'Apply for Quota Admission'.
  3. Select the quota type: In-house or Minority.
  4. Search and select the college.
  5. Click 'Apply'.

2. Checking Quota Merit List

Purpose: To see if you are selected. Action:

  1. The college will display the merit list on their website and notice board.
  2. You will also see the status in your student login under 'Quota Allotment Status'.

3. Confirming Admission

Purpose: To finalize the seat. Action:

  1. If allotted, click 'Upload Documents' (if asked) and 'Proceed for Admission'.
  2. Visit the college with fees.
  3. Warning: If you take admission in Quota, you are OUT of the general CAP rounds.

Management Quota Process

  1. Register online (Part-1).
  2. Visit the college and ask for the Management Quota form.
  3. Submit the form to the college.
  4. If the college agrees to admit you, they will upload your admission online using your Student ID.

FAQ

Q: Can I apply for Quota and CAP rounds simultaneously? A: Yes. You can apply for Quota in Zero Round. If you don't take admission, you can participate in CAP Round 1.

Q: I am a Gujarati. Can I get Minority quota in a Christian college? A: No. Linguistic minority applies to linguistic colleges, and religious minority to religious colleges. You must match the specific minority of the college.

Q: Is Management Quota donation-based? A: The government regulates fees, but Management Quota seats are discretionary. Official rules state admissions should be transparent.
